1. What is 24 Hour Theatre?

24 Hour Theatre is an hour-long show that is brought to life within a 24 hour period.  Each show consists of short comedic plays that center around a theme (ex. "Secrecy," or "Control").  The writers are given a week to create these scripts.  The actors and directors are given 24 hours to create a performance worthy of an audience.

Each show is original, new, and guaranteed to be a never-repeated, one-of-a-kind experience.

2. So it's not one play?

Nope.  24 Hour Theatre shows are an hour collection of short plays centered around a theme.  This theme is a phrase that must be included (ex. each play must contain the line "It was under the stairs").  Each show is unique, and will never again be performed in its entirety.

3. Are shows comedic or dramatic?

Comedy!  Our writers gravitate to comedy, and we find that audiences like this best.  24 Hour Theatre may have a special event with dramatic pieces, but none are currently in the works.  We want to make sure you leave laughing!

4. Where is 24 Hour Theatre held?

24 Hour Theatre is held in black box theatres across southern California.  There are plans to expand, as a 24 Hour Theatre can be held in any small theatre at any time…as long as there are talented writers, actors, and directors willing to do it.

5. How do I buy tickets?

Tickets are purchased at the door.  All tickets are subject to availability and are bought for cash.

You can RSVP for a ticket.  RSVPing allows the theatre to estimate how many people are coming and also gives the person a $5 discount when they buy their ticket at the door.
We do not hold tickets (because even the most dedicated patrons may be unable to attend a show, and we want to ensure a packed house).

Tickets with an RSVP: $10
Tickets without an RSVP: $15

6. How do I RSVP?

You can RSVP online here, or bring a promotional flyer that says "this is an RSVP" on it to the show.  Either way, your RSVP entitles you to a cheaper ticket at the door.

*Filling out an RSVP does not force you to purchase a ticket or guarantee a ticket.  We recommend arriving early to ensure you get a seat.

7. Can I be involved in 24 Hour Theatre?
